I thought I would post a copy of the example book outline I did on the writestream, talking about book planning and outlining. I don’t know if I would actually write this book (but I could for the live writes, if nothing else), but my normal book outlines don’t look too different from this one. As I worked, I would fill in more details than I did on Wednesday, including the names of the fictional kingdom, mountains, etc.
You don’t have to have every detail worked out before you begin. You just need to know where you are going and have a good map for how to get there.
I also realized I gave Athelredy the wrong name (I was thinking of Athelred the Unready, a king of Wessex and older brother of Alfred the Great), but I think it sounds funny, so I would probably keep it.
