You're one of the few people I watch or read who recognizes propaganda. To my mind, the most interesting thing about modern media is analyzing the hidden message.
As soon as I saw the ad on Twitter, I instantly remembered the incident from three years ago in which Dan Cathy (the then-CEO of Chick-fil-A) performed this humiliation ritual:
To be honest, what I got from that ad was an almost Wierd Al - Amish level of “I am more humble than thou art” bragging. At least that’s the surface message I saw.
I am catholic and there’s no way I would be washing feet outside Holy Thursday, in any kind of religious context. It’s almost insulting, if I cared enough for a commercial to matter.
